Lovely green terracotta enamelled pitcher produced in France, with a slightly timeworn appearance that adds to its wonderful character. The inside is glazed transparently so the terracotta brown is beautifully visible, adorning the exterior’s warm dark green glaze. We`ve found this piece somewhere in the South of France, close to the Italian border, in this antique shop owned by the cutest and grumpiest owner you can imagine, and he told us this piece is dating back to the XIX century and that it was recovered from a house that was due for extensive renovation.
This sort of pitcher was generally used for storing kitchen utensils, serving water and even wine, and could be a cheerful addition to your kitchen shelf or dresser, adding just the right amount of French farmhouse charm.
