Porcelain creamer/milk jug produced by Hutschenreuther LHS Selb in Bavaria, Germany during late 1930s, early 1940s, in the Juwel shape (Juwel means gem or jewel in German), one of their most iconic shapes that was highly sought after.
With a lovely mix of pink flowers, green leaves, dark brown branches and a colloidal gold rim - on both the top and the handle -, this was most likely part of a tea/coffee set for 6 to 12 persons, as during that time it was common practice for people to either host small gatherings at home or serve tea after dinner. The pink flower theme is very specific to that period when floral patterns where very much in vogue, the style gradually evolving towards the end of the WWII in what is now known as the eclectic style in terms of home design and dinner/kitchenware.
This creamer would be a great addition to your morning ritual, with reminiscent stories to tell about the time it was first used and in excellent condition considering its age.
