Post-modern Memphis ASA Selection ‘Origami’ Bowls (Germany, 1980s)

Set of two matte glazed (cobalt blue and dark turquoise) bowls produced by ASA Selection during 1980s in West Germany, inspired from the folded paper of the Japanese art of Origami.

Following ASA`s philosophy for “clear shapes, clear colours”, the Origami Collection does not stray from being unconventional, authentic and innovative. Yvonne Schubkegel, the founder of ASA reflected the company’s vision in all collections released from 1976 [when the ASA story began] till today, creating pieces that should make people feel good in their presence.

Mixing utilitarianism with a clear design, the bowls radiate emotion, creating a cozy, friendly atmosphere whilst inviting both you as a host and your guests to linger and build memories over a shared meal. So, regardless whether you use these as salad or sides to share bowls or just use them as decor or fruit bowls, they definitely bring that touch of that 1980s Memphis Group craze.

Kindly note both bowls have minor scratches and some chipping on the edges, despite still having the original sticker still intact. Please make sure you check all pictures!
