Resembling a lot the East European kitsch porcelain decorations we’ve all grown up with, this rare Dartmouth Pottery inspired pink ceramic dish - super specific for the 1960s - really stands out in a crowd. The pedestal is adorned with two dolphins riding a wave and a shell on top, and can be used in manifold ways. It can be a soap or bonbon dish, a trinket or jewellery tray, but it can also be used as an ashtray or even a forest fruit bowl, for a centrepiece.

Inspired from the gurgling water jugs, first invented during late 1870s by the Brits, they became famous when they were presented to Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip during their royal visit from July 28th, 1958 at the Britannia Royal Naval College.

This is perhaps one of the oddest looking pieces we’ve curated so far, standing out both for its design inasmuch as for its functionality.
