Set of 10 Eschenbach Bavaria white porcelain starter/dessert plates with a laurel leaf colloidal gold pattern on the rim, produced at the beginning of the 1940s. The pattern and the use of golden details is something very specific to that period, especially in the case of high-end porcelain pieces that maintained a more traditional style.
If before 1939 the producer was thriving, nowadays, Eschenbach porcelain is rare to find as due to WWII, only a small range of porcelain has survived, same going for the range of designs of the company, as nearly all existing documents were destroyed or lost when American soldiers liberated the area.
All plates are in excellent condition and might show some fine lines, most likely due to use, but those small imperfections give that extra character and authenticity and would be a lovely addition to any large family gathering. They are great for serving starters or desserts.
