Set of two mix and match candlestick holders, with a lovely time patina that makes them look like they have been in your home and family for a lot longer than when these will be delivered by the courier.
The one on the left is produced by Koninklijke Metaalwarenfabrieken (K.M.D. Tiel) in Holland, in the city of Tiel and it was also known as the Royal Holland Pewter. The company was founded back in 1880s, it was previously named J.N. Daalderop & Zonen (in 1917) specialising in the manufacture of dinnerware, pots and dishes, kettles, and kerosene and gas lamps in a variation of the Art Nouveau style, gradually evolving into that of Art Deco and the Amsterdam School.
The piece was made during the 1940s out of pewter (a grey alloy of tin with copper, antimony and silver), a material very much used during in that period, and it has a visible charming time patina and some denting on the top, due to intense use throughout time.
The other candlestick holder is made out of silver plated metal, produced in Germany, during the 1950s. The piece is in great condition and is rather tall as compared to the Royal Holland one. It has the manufacturer`s mark on the bottom and it takes on the Art Deco style reminiscent of that time.
Both candlestick holders can be a great addition to your dinner table or can be used solely for decorative purposes, nicely sat on one of your shelves for that countryside meets antique vibe.
