Very rare porcelain trio produced by Schwarzenhammer Bavaria in 1949 only, most likely just after the US army left the large section of south-eastern and central Germany (including Bavaria) in April, when the company dropped the “US Zone” addition to their mark, that was additionally changed towards to end of the year when the “Bavaria” mention. This was later on removed and up until 1952 it used the “Germany” only mark.
This is an important note as this gives an extremely short timeframe for this set to be produced, the design of the teacup (pointed handle and raised feet) and the Asian themed floral pattern (bamboo flowers and leaves) being inspired from the eclectic style of the 1940s, including the colloidal gold details on the rim, and the influence of Chinese art throughout Europe during that period.
With a story to tell about its production, producer and period and an undeniable historical significance, the set has a delicate feel, made out of fine creamy white porcelain with lovely hand-painted Asian inspired bamboo decoration and can definitely be a companion for your coffee and tea daily ritual.
